It's really weird how we apparently have this death cult in the United States marching off the cliff willingly. Like I really am interested to see what is written about these times years from now. This is such a a bizarre time, and I think it's a mistake to stay silent on that.https://twitter.com/donlemon/status/1276130270933065734 …

it's simple. People want to be in control of their life ... and to join a "death-cult" if they want to.
Ex:
Driving fast cars
Skydiving
Mountain climbing
Riding without a helmet
Eating poorly
Not exercising
Gambling
etc.4 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

Or let's put it this way: Refusing to wear masks is an extreme sport and a thrill, even if it means killing grandma? These defenses of Trumpism are truly bind bending.

Merely describing a mind-set.... is considered a "defense"?

There was no indication of distancing yourself from the mindset... So you don't agree with that mindset?

I sometimes like to be a "mind-set tourist". It goes a long way to helping me develop empathy for others...Much better than judging them from my default mindset.

I'll only go as far as "I can see how you arrived at that" or rather "I can see how you justified that for yourself". But let's not treat all viewpoints as "valid" and let ourselves get buried in moral relativism. That's what lets extreme stupidity and evil flourish.

Well. All viewpoints ARE valid (just ask someone with a viewpoint) Voluntary adoption of mind-sets and standards of behavior is much more effective than imposing them (which can lead to other evils)

Soooo you're saying flat earthers have a point?

Belief is subjective. Objective science doesn't change that. ...Even scientists believe different things ( but a flat Earth isn't one of them)

It's how you arrive at the beliefs that counts. I'm not going to endorse this "everything is, like, an opinion man" slant. I think it's a big reason why things are as crazy as they are lately- stupidity is given free reign.
