I completely agree. I've read a lot about the history too, but never quite grasped how it worked until seeing the past few years unfold. Our understanding of reality comes from those around us—so when enough of the folks we know and trust are insane, we become insane, too.
Exactly. That's why I think it's important to be vocal about it. Silence normalizes it. I know I'm alienating a lot of followers (the count keeps going down each time lol) but I'm going to keep doing it.
Definitely. Making sure the sane voices outnumber the crazy ones is the only thing that matters.
That's also why it's so encouraging to see folks like @ProjectLincoln, who can reach people who might be deep within the bubble.
What do you think has allowed things to get to this point? Growing up in the 90s there was some clear cultural fascination with conspiracy theories (The X Files, etc) that seems to have foreshadowed all of this weirdness. Do you think it's the internet, or something else?
