Some people are so furiously advocating to keep their master/slave terminology that I feel like their next step will be renaming their master branches to my_führer.

My take is some people dislike "microcensorship", which encroaches our speaking/writing little by little. There is history behind words, and some history is not good. But do we need to abandon all words with negative history? It's all about where we draw the line.
It's voluntary self-censorship too. It's basically taking a pledge saying "yep...I'll try to not be an asshole, because that's important"
