1/ PSA: Windows is not supported for the open source DeOldify project, and for good reason: Supporting it means opening a can of worms of extra work fixing issues that simply don't occur on Linux. DeOldify open source simply isn't for non-technical users.

2/ MyHeritage In color, Colorize Images, and DeepAI are the user friendly options! This might sound like a "lazy" stance. But the best way to avoid bugs and keep things tidy is to be skeptical and mindful of expansion of scope on a project.

3/ Generally, probably the best way to keep code from getting unmanageable is to be assertive about keeping the requirements manageable. It's one of the most productive things you can do in your job, though the big catch is you have to tread carefully with the politics.

Windows installs for Linux-centric Python AI code can get pretty hairy... I think much of it comes down to the compiler tooling. Windows is a 3rd-class citizen but it's getting better as Microsoft and Linux teams converge, now let's all fix NVidia, Tensorflow and Pytorch repos.

Yeah definitely that, and more generally how much attention is being paid to the platforms. It's a chicken and egg question- admittedly I'm not helping matters by sticking to the easy path (Linux) instead of pushing to get Windows stuff fixed by having DeOldify run there.
