Hold up....somehow it's bad that the software was shareware for 14 days, then cost a whole $29.90? I don't want to make you feel bad but that's what I'm talking about! That's entitlement. Who made that software? Who pays their bills? Who paid for their education???
For the education, the state would have had to pay, and this is the only possible answer in 2020. Loans, private education, are only ways of giving better education to the rich and worse education to the poor, and that's the worse thing to do, except for the rich obviously.
For software and bills, I like the model in which big companies pay developers to release their software as open source. I find it a small way of doing the social good, even if they should pay 10x the taxes they pay anyway.
