This. Let's stop being afraid of being "alarmist" or "too political". If we're going to fix this, we need to at least start establishing a common ground that we openly talk about- things are seriously fucked up.https://twitter.com/JYSexton/status/1251284016826851329 …

Privilege is a two-way street here. People like me have been able to be patient about sheltering in place because I work from home and have kept my income. If I was laid off I’d be far more likely to want things to return to normal fast, despite the risk.

Let's be really careful not to sugar coat or distract from what is being talked about here. We're too quick to normalize this shit from the president. It is simply not acceptable for the *president to call for an armed rebellion in blue states.

Wait, where did he say “armed rebellion”? I just saw the generic “liberate” stuff

A call out to the 2nd amendment here. Of course, complete with plausible deniability in that it doesn't outright say "shoot 'em up" but come on...https://twitter.com/joncoopertweets/status/1251195827336499200 …
Jason Antic added,
Jon Cooper 🇺🇸Verified account @joncoopertweets.@Jack and@TwitterSafety, if your rules mean anything, you need to suspend Trump from your platform NOW for inciting violence. If not, you can expect a big lawsuit if — God forbid — someone gets killed as a result of Trump’s Twitter rants. pic.twitter.com/s1PzoEIPlc1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

It stinks that the leader of the free world talks like this. It's trolling. He likes saying inflammatory stuff to draw attention to himself. Makes me just want to ignore it (on Twitter anyways); if I give him attention, doesn't he get what he wants? How do you deal with a troll?

But his words actually drive stupid action. That's the problem. We can't pretend it's just "trolling" when people are actually doing things like taking hydroxychloroquine on their own and dying because they believe their dear leader's every word.

The AZ couple? You definitely missed details - The survivor voted HRC in '16 - Called Trump a "psycho prez" on FB (2/19) - Donated to "pro-science" PAC in Feb - Then "listens" to Trump? - Self-medicated; no one advised this - Used chloroquine phosphate, not hydroxychloroquine

"Speaking to the Free Beacon, Wanda acknowledged she was a Democrat and put less emphasis on Trump's guidance: "We weren't big supporters of [Trump], but we did see that they were using it in China and stuff," Wanda said."https://freebeacon.com/latest-news/woman-who-ingested-fish-tank-cleaner-was-prolific-donor-to-democratic-causes/ …

Also "Wanda told NBC News that her experience was a cautionary tale about taking the president's words at face value. "Oh my God, don't take anything. Don't believe anything that the president says and his people," she said.
