...and then what? Hope we have a better plan for Phases 2,3,4,5, etc.

Hopefully phase one goes well so the following phases don't have to be any more extreme.

if we can't achieve containment (which is doubtful) we'll just buy time w/this approach. Ultimately, we need an end-game to let the viral immunity spread but protect vulnerable groups

Containment is out the window. The goal now is to limit and reduce the surge on our medical facilities. The idea is to 'flatten the curve' of people needing medical assistance.pic.twitter.com/SYD3fgD5vC

Just "flattening" could take a Decade.....we can't stop with that. Hoping for Vaccine, but even that could take 18 mos+https://medium.com/@joschabach/flattening-the-curve-is-a-deadly-delusion-eea324fe9727 …

I'm not an expert, but the idea of a sudden spike in cases where the spread grows exponentially is quite scary.

Asymptomatic & Mild cases (>80%) and critical cases (including Deaths) is up to 6%. If we could predict how individuals will respond to infection we could controllably build immunity fast with certain individuals and hopefully prevent infection in others more vulnerable.

@IntuitMachine &@citnaj what do you both think of achieving this response predictability? is it feasible or is there some obvious blocker to predicting clinical response to infection for differing demographics, etc some prelim data is here: https://www.uptodate.com/contents/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19 …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
I don't think I can offer an informed opinion on that. Sorry!
