I know everyone is worried right now, but putting people at risk is not the same as murdering people, and by acting like it's the same all you will get is a lot of people refusing to get tested by fear of being treated like murderers.

The goal should be to get people at risk to get tested, and by letting our worst instinct for retribution take over, we'll get the exact opposite to happen.

If you've got a social context in which doing a wrong thing and then trying to make it right (but not being able to do so completely) will increase your exclusion, people who have already done the wrong thing will just be encouraged to dig their heels in and defend it.
