It's not "lose".. It's more, like, artificially select? :) One could even say, eliminate some? And let the remaining ones become more intense? It's sad fun: you spot a verified account that is like "RD is right", and the comments are all "libtards are anti-science". Fine people.
LOL yes that's exactly the filter that's being applied here. It really makes me wonder what Richard is thinking. It seems like a pattern with him though lately and it's weird.

I don't think they weigh the consequences much at this point (this curious group of people: RD, Pinker etc.) They have a habit of being right, popular, and edgy; a self-image of tough love this world needs. Power, corrupts, you know, and intellectual power is not an exception.
