      ~@gwern and I added self-attention to stylegan2. It's a technique biggan uses. The early training results look so interesting now. And it varies depending whether spectral normalization is used or not (which is an option that can be applied to the self-attention layer).pic.twitter.com/0oGiWdKF5V

      Yes, I imagine so. Self-attention seems very good at helping global consistency, like coloring eyes the same color (a perennial problem for pre-StyleGAN anime GANs - my theory is that the SG's 8xFC embedding helps substitute for self-attention).

      Yes. It’s amazing how many things fall under the category of global calculation in some way or another too, and this has become more obvious as I continue to tweak self-attention. I really think SA should be considered as a primary component like fc and conv.

          Yeah I believe that too. Attention is very powerful. I wonder what other types of layers we are missing today that as similar and powerful. Or may be attention is a universal layer?
