It’s a real crapshoot with any of these microscopic images because the model hasn’t been trained on anything like them. Not only are the structures unusual to it but also the contrast, lighting, textures, etc. If it picks green it probably thinks it’s vegetation for example.

It would be interesting to see the steps during testing/prediction and how the generator and critic determine what is what... it could be trained to colorize science and astronomy images.
