      They're Dutch "klompen" or wooden shoes, and those are almost always bright yellow. It's not the model's 'choice' to make them this way. It's part of Dutch culture and heritage. It's literally 'the way we were' in the Netherlands in the early 1900s.

      Well it's a surprising result because I didn't train the model to know this actually- it's trained strictly on modern photos that are turned black and white. Yeah sorry basically I'm coming across as a bit ignorant here and I apologize for that.

      I think it's learning rules based on shading/texture/lighting that can work regardless of what the item actually is.

      Oh, as in only a yellow object could have given this type of black and white texture / lighting in the training images used, so then it infers that the shoes must be yellow?

          Do you attention maps or anything similar to know have a more in depth understand doing of how the model is working? I don't really know how attention maps could be used for GANs though, hence my question also
