what do you think caused the yellow color? is this a function of training data overly biased toward yellow shoes (or shoe-shaped objects) and thus fixable by finding more generalized data?

I think it's actually picking up on subtle cues based on material and shading, independent of what the item actually is. I've seen this play out with a lot of different things that the model would otherwise not be able to determine such colors.

interesting. i guess the next q is how do these things get corrected? feed more data? tweak model parameters? or unsolvable? this also assumes the model was wrong, which others seem to suggest may not be true.
