i mean... how the program could determine the color, the term deep learning always identical with learning/training process right?
Oh well I'm creating the black and white photos synthetically by taking the existing color images and transforming them to black and white with noise, altered contrast/brightness etc to simulate "old" photos. If that answers your question.

Such a great motivation in coloring old photos. Recent works may only concentrate on restoring color from original images, but ignore what the old photos are. Perhaps it’s because of “research” paper
