These are amazing! I'd love to see a comparison between a set of RGB source images and the DeOldify colorizations of their grayscale versions. Would shed light on the decisions of DeOldify.

Wow! That's insanely pretty! And I love how it gets lil details: socks for a kid, flowers for the dress... What would happen if you give it a pic with flags? Either state flags, or something like navy signal flags? Will is just spitball random solid colors, or?..
Thanks! It actually does get American flags right at least- I've seen that much. It clearly recognizes what those are and I know they're in the training set. It does do other flags -sometimes- and it's not random- there's other cues for color (optics rules it appears to learn).
