Yes. Thank you. I know there’s a bunch of us who are afraid to say this stuff because we’ll get the same treatment. The ironic thing is that this is about the most toxic thing I see on Twitter, and it’s by the very people who lament how toxic others are.
Hmm can you explain? For me, the Neurips name change makes a lot of sense, while at the same time, I strongly disagree with the way quantum supremacy is being handled. It's important to talk in specifics and carefully handle things on a case by case basis for things like these.
Something that I think important to note is, toxicity resulting from being attacked for simply possessing some (often immutable) attribute is not nearly the same as increased costs to certain behaviors that weren't there before. Much of it is, it's the delta what's being noticed.
