If I call out a stranger on the street as "hey, you, the obese one, can you move?" It is perfectly reasonable to read that as some sort of insult or slur.

Twitter is just structurally not about the truth, and we all need to keep that firmly in mind. It's about "what causes ppl to click"—which aligns with the truth only sometimes and sort of by accident.
