That's a lot of people, from what I've seen. And I'd count myself among those when I was younger and first starting out in the field. Why? Because you don't trust your own judgement and the field gets overwhelming. It's really a natural step in the development of expertise.
I love what DHH puts out in the world. This talk is superb. I particularly like and the rant against fad software diets like TDD.
