selection bias (in that your idea eventually worked hence we read your tweets) that said, “fail fast” is a loser idea and tenacity is important part of success on any problem; every project has an OMG it’s failing phase, gotta keep going

I was careful to specify that this has worked for years and repeatedly because I know “survivorship bias” is the first thing that springs to mind. I actually taught this to mentees at work for years and told them that really was what made the difference as opposed to cleverness.
