Can confirm. Sticking stubbornly to a single problem/idea with a firm belief that there is a solution to be found (with a creative/open mind) has paid off for me for years. I was careful to specify that this has worked for years and repeatedly because I know “survivorship bias” is the first thing that springs to mind. I actually taught this to mentees at work for years and told them that really was what made the difference as opposed to cleverness.
