It's really demotivating, has happened to me too. It's not really difficult to acknowledge the creator of a codebase. There should be some ethics checks in orgs to make sure they comply and appreciate their positions within the moral boundaries that they're entitled with.

Yeah it can be demotivating. I'm lucky in that enough people know me and the work I've done already so it's not hard to set the record straight. But that's a privileged position, quite frankly. It seems like this sort of "do it until you get caught" thing is routine.

I'm not too upset about it for myself honestly. It's more the deceiving the public part about it that I have a problem with- that they're not getting the benefit of knowing that they can run this themselves, for free.

Currently what I have is relegated to GH only, but it works quite well for that (both for finding matches and hunting for any signs of attribution). Have considered making it avail to other creators, but not there yet.

Idea: Create a bot that uses the same black and white image and comprises it using a given service and anytime you detect a similarity between it and your model add it to a list of "red flag" to verify if they are giving you credit.
