Oh man yeah please avoid VR experiences like this. Highly recommended: Oculus Quest. It’s one of the most affordable ones out there that is actual VR (free movement, namely), it looks great graphics-wise (really!) and tracking rivals my Vive.https://twitter.com/nimazeighami/status/1201046273316413440 …

I was just looking at the Quest today. The problem I have is the platforms are severely fragmented. Games out for the Oculus Go don't even work on the Quest without modification.

1/ Yeah I have really mixed feelings about the Go or anything like it that had 3 degrees of freedom (as opposed to full movement with 6). They were doomed to create dead ends like that, because the experiences have to be tailored accordingly. Also..it's not VR imho.

2/ I definitely subscribe to the "poisoning the well" theory of bad VR experiences (3dof included, no matter how good). I think for the most part you only truly get why VR is great when you experience it first hand. And 6dof is crucial to convey that.
