super hooked up on getting good grades. That is a shame cause learning for its own sake is fun. Now that my daughter started 1st grade, I vowed to throw her a party (kid champagne, chips, movie) whenever she gets anything below an A. So far only one party, a C from her karate
That's a bold policy! It seems like there's even more pressure for kids now than when I was doing it to myself as a kid (yeah...same story as you for me on being hooked on good grades). Know of anybody else doing this?

My daughter is the kindest, gentlest person in the universe, always trying to do what the teacher asks of her, never misbehaves. Caring about grades messed me up quite a
bit AFAIKT, I went to some pretty weird schools, I don't want this for her.
Might be an overreaction but I think I am onto smth. Besides, I was able to get good grades but I only learned a bit about learning thx to @fastdotai!
