Have the impression that a lot of people in Data Science are getting carried away by algos and/or technology. In the end you want to solve a problem and especially in non-technical business domains technology alone is imho seldom a solution. What do you think?

This is precisely where a lot of needless complexity and maintenance nightmares originate.
Granted I’m speaking more from the perspective of software development but I think it’s the same basic issue at hand.
