I see people using http://colourise.sg still (since http://colorize.ml is not accessible anymore and Colab is not an option for everyone) and what used to wow me now makes me cringe. You've come a long way

Ha well thanks! http://colourise.sg is actually based on the first version of DeOldify (older than the version http://Colorize.ml is based on). Yeah I constantly cringe even at my newer stuff. The perfectionism in me gets to be a pain.

I wonder how much it would cost to set up a service like http://colorize.ml again, because it pains me to see people colorizing with http://colourise.sg and end up with greenish/greyish-looking pics when the tech is here to do much better…

Btw, thinking of interfaces… I seem to have noticed that lower-resolution images usually fare better with lower render factors, while higher-res require high render factors. Does that make sense? Is that something that could be auto-detected?

My original reaction to that issue was to try to make something to auto detect it. But what wound up happening is I figured out how to make rendering really consistent to make that sort of approach obsolete (more ideal). Not released yet.
