Word. I just saw a thread where somebody was saying it was ill advised to refuse to code outside of work because you’ll lessen your chances of “success”. Sure- if you’re optimizing just for being a useful coder- you can maximize that success by throwing away everything else.

And I say “useful coder” because really- who are you doing this for...? Sounds like you’ll certainly make an employer happy but I doubt there’s some sort of trickle down from that to nearly anything else important. It’s

It’s not an easy choice to know exactly how we should be spending our time and in fact this can be one of the most anxiety inducing things. But I do know for sure I don’t want to default to -just coding-. That’s so one dimensional and boring.
