One of the worst things I was advised to do by a professor in college was to put as much as possible in configuration files and away from code, because it makes things "easier" for "non-programmers". When I started working on huge C++ projects some of them took an hour to compile. Not sure old wisdom translates to the python era...
That’s a good potential legit use case. Maybe- the argument still stands that you often wind up with something g really hairy. But none of the instances that I’ve seen ever involved that sort of scenario.
