LOL for me it felt like the most natural way of expressing my thoughts to the extent that i just typed what i thought the syntax would be and it almost always worked - let's see what

Perl makes more sense in the context of bash, sed, etc. It inherits a lot of weird Unix scripting syntax. I enjoyed playing with the Parrot project (proposed Perl 6 VM) back in the day.
