C# is an extremely logically thought out language and framework. And .NET Core now truly runs on all platforms, Linux, Mac and Windows. It's a really remarkably well done system. (Disclosure, former MSFT employee.)

I will never use Java again now that there is Kotlin.
-
Because of being a better language or because there's just no need?

IMO: Java, Pascal, and Python all intentionally act too strictly to make life more difficult. Whereas C, PHP, etc., give you plenty of rope... which I prefer, nonetheless.
-
Even Python is too strict? Interesting take.... I consider it not strict enough!

The joy you derive from getting stuff done in C++ far exceeds other languages. Esp after 11, they have really embraced best of both worlds : the original flavor n python like ease of use. Have to do my deep learning stuff in python but still use C++ for competitive programming
