I just saw this paper. It's literally DeOldify. Yet no mention. I know this likeness is not a coincidence because I talked to one of the authors about it months ago before it went up. I won't name names. http://openaccess.thecvf.com/content_CVPRW_2019/papers/NTIRE/Sharma_Robust_Image_Colorization_Using_Self_Attention_Based_Progressive_Generative_Adversarial_CVPRW_2019_paper.pdf …

Yeah...wasn't the full context of what was discussed. I wasn't saying "claim full credit". In fact we left it off with you saying "Give me a day or two will send you everything formally and don’t worry we will surely keep you the first author" followed by me waiting...

I hope you understand the magnitude of what this is. If you don't, you should ask someone who publishes research. You cannot "talk over" promising someone a first-author and completely discrediting them, it comes under intentional plagiarism which has serious consequences.

Replying to @soumithchintala @citnaj
Wow I didn't realize how serious this issue is. I've been through something similar - not at that big of a level though. Formed an undergrad research group in my campus due to a lack of profs. doing ML research. (1/2)

We worked on a paper (https://arxiv.org/abs/1812.07159 ) - with the idea and most of the code being mine. We decided that I'd be the first author and we went with that in the preprint. Later on, I left the group due to some internal conflicts and me shifting my focus to RL. (2/3)

When submitting to the conference, these guys changed the name of the paper from the actual preprint, moved my name to the end - and submitted without ever informing me. When the submission got accepted, I get an email and realized whatever happened.

I'll contact the conference and inform what has happened. What else would you guys recommend? Thanks a lot! Also - sorry for underestimating my tweet sizes lol.

Thanks! I’ve already done that though and they’re digging into it .
