The #CVPR leadership is also at major fault here. It should not be that easy to smuggle blatant plagiarism to the canonical conference. A simple Google search would have detected it, is not like you are hiding your work! (& please don't, your work is awesome!!!

This brings another point about academia. People who haven't even read the paper are co authors.
-
This definitely happens... All. The. Time. I always review papers where I’m the co-author. Always. I look at it this way: if I put my name behind something, the I’m saying to the world, hey, I stand by this work. I’ve caught many errors, omissions, missing citations, etc.

Jason - If they do apologise earnestly, I hope you will accept it. Hopefully they have learned their lessons. Would hate to see this ruin their careers.

I applaud your tenacious stance against plagiarism. I also hope this wasn't a case of a junior scholar being coerced into unethical behavior by a person of seniority/power. The university/conference should investigate carefully without bias.

@citnaj is there any update on what actions were taken against all of them. Cause obviously they fooled the institute also by showing they've worked but nothing was done on their side. -
I reported it to the director listed on the paper. I’ll be submitting a formal case tonight or tomorrow (traveling unfortunately makes it tough). CVPR has already been notified.
