Hello Twitter World,
Requesting you all to help here:
This is really messed up: @citnaj (Jason Antic)'s truly truly amazing work (DeOldify Project) has been copied (stolen) and claimed by the authors as their own in a published paper.

Jason had pointed out in the OP that you never completed the conversation. And then even shared a screenshot hiding some context.

I'll just say this: I work as an ML Freelancer and I'm pretty sure such activities would lead to very serious legal action in that scenario or even in the professional world in general. I'm also really worried about the damage to the Indian ML Community this might cause.

Oh yeah totally, it's not a generalization at all. But I'm worried if it might hurt the reputation to some extent.

It's not just about Indian ML community. There is an unfortunate bias which exists at quite a few places against Indians when it comes to plagiarism. This, unfortunately, can propagate that further.

Yeah I don't want this situation to turn into reinforcing negative stereotypes. Cheating in academia (and generally!) is happening all over the world in various forms. People are people.
