re: this plagiarism fiasco, here are the people I’ve worked with a lot on DeOldify that should be on that paper: @jeremyphoward , @GuggerSylvain, both geniuses, and my great and absolutely brilliant friend you guys haven’t heard of yet- @danasday
With Jeremy and Sylvain we did a lot of cool work like the NoGAN stuff that made video possible and even made a lesson out of it (part 1 course 7). Also, DeOldify is built on the wonderful @fastdotai library which using it is truly standing on the shoulders of giants
Now Dana has been working with me, doing all these things I can’t do brilliantly and non stop pretty much from the beginning. It’s a commercial effort we’re working on so I can’t say everybody, but basically if it isn’t deep learning it’s definitely her work.
And if it is deep learning it’s still often her being a great sounding board on new ideas, keeping me sane/grounded, all while being the most productive person I’ve ever met. Probably the closest to “renaissance person” I’ve ever dealt with.
