For this workflow it would cool to have more knobs to tweak or variations in the output other than render_factor, if you picking keyframes anyway, could be extremely aggressive guessing colors and pick out of a set for each scene.

Thinking like StyleGAN knobs? I do like the idea of having the software do a sort of Jackson Pollock job on many options that you get to choose from...

Yeah, as long we're choosing from a big variety, not super important that the knobs are actually accessible. I found myself doing a low-tech version of this anyway when I was playing with DoOldify, trying random pre-preprocessing on the input images to get different outputs.

Yes- sharpening makes a big difference, and contrast too. You can probably get interesting effects with introduction of noise as well
