Yesterday someone (ML, CS PhD, Stanford) said he would not hire a person who is online educated in Machine Learning. Who here agrees and who thinks differently?

why do you think people do not hire them? I think lack of credibility. Traditional platforms like colleges r still unmatched when it comes to credibility. this shld change.
Really what that “credibility” assessment amounts to is an attempt to shortcut a fair evaluation of a candidate with an overly simplistic heuristic that may even double as a pat on one’s back (“a PhD like us!”). Yeah, I think if we want to attack inequality, this is a good start
