DeOldify Progress Update: I'll be working on the upgrade to http://Fast.AI 1.0 and Pytorch 1.0 now. Estimates are always iffy but best guess is this will take a week or two. I'll want to make the install easy in the process (single command line call, hopefully).

That's a correct assumption. Honestly, if the deep learning ecosystem wasn't totally married to Python, I'd do it in Java. I love me some Java

Depends on what you'd want to be available in Java. Training? Nay- don't see any compelling reason to do that. Just to get results (colorization/defade)? Yeah- one of the goals is to make this a web service. of some sort. i.e. to make it useful :)
