He doesn't blame Trump or Bernie. They are a reaction to the fact that the system is broken.

Which is beyond patronizing and condescending. God forbid, maybe, just maybe the centrists have been wrong.
-
Or maybe we can gradually work one way or another and don’t need to go full tilt. I have progressive ideals, but am realistic about how to move forward with them. Scrapping everything piecemeal is what has us in the mess we are in now. It’s what Trump is doing.
-
Big ideas win elections. Think about what you are saying. Look at crowd sizes. People want to be inspired and motivated, not told to sit down and remember we can only do what the billionaires will let us. That is literally our system. Nobody wants billionaire "realistic" anymore

I love that Bernie moved the Overton window to the left and if he’s the nominee, I’ll support him. Right now, though, I’m keeping an open mind. My number one goal is to defeat Trump.
-
Many Many Millions will NEVER Support Bernie, we saw he was following the

Of course Sneaky Pete did. He's conspiring behind the scenes to stop Bernie. He's a neoliberal centrist who has more in common with Pence than any Democrat.pic.twitter.com/r4xX4WKb5s

Thanks for alerting me to the need to unfollow you. I have ZERO problem w/ 80% of Bernie followers. Differences of opinion and approach are A-OK w/ me. But trashing & trying to other every and any other running for the nom is NOT OK w/ me. These stupid nicknames alone are trash.
-
I so agree with you. Their behavior is not ok and very divisive.
-
You mean Pete's? Come on. Like this wasn't on purpose. Pete has to break into a lane and its Biden or Bernie. He went after Bernie. Quit acting shocked that he did this. He had to. Welcome to politics.
-
None of this is going after Bernie. It's a diagnosis of a dynamic that is very similar to what Bernie himself has said, for Pete's sake. Plus, it's true. I fail to see how othering & mischaracterizing other contenders helps Bernie. He has a lot going for him. THIS doesn't help.pic.twitter.com/vZRnMAxoRA

Well said, Drew.

If you live in an ivory tower. Bernie voters aren't desperate. They actually are right. GASP. Clutch pearls. lmao... Centrists. What would we do without our no knowing, know it alls...
-
No substance. Just the assumption I'm a centrist. I'm not. This "tactic", if you can call it that, is why Bernie isn't going to be the nominee. Again.

What he’s saying is that the motivation of voters who desire maximal change will cause them to vote for candidates who promise maximal change. He is not at all equating these two people on substance. Clearly, the type of change promised in each case couldn’t be more different.
-
He specifically said that both supporters are “how we got here.”
-
No, that's not what he said.
@PeteButtigieg said it "could lead you to someone like Bernie, or it could lead you to someone like Trump, and that's how we got where we are." This means that voting for Trump produced the current state of affairs. Please listen to the clip again. -
I have and I 100% reject the premise of that. It's highly offensive, and frankly arrogant af. Anyone who subscribes to that lazy intellectualism I quit listening to.
-
Which is how we got here.
-
No, we got here by listening to extremists (centrists) tell us for decades that entitlements are the main driver of our debt lmfao. We just need to "get entitlements under control" centrists are the extreme ones. Yeah, the rich NEED MORE MONEY, and entitlements are the problem.
-
We got here partly because a lot of the bernie backers either didn't vote or voted for trump.
