    This is what the mainstream fact checkers focus on, ignoring the far more significant reports that the administration lied about the drone strike against “ISIS” as we were pulling out of Afghanistan

    The Defense Secretary didn’t send a text to the whole military. Pilots didn’t quit en masse. The Air Force is making people get vaxxed by early November, not 10 am. Don’t get your news from bodybuilder monologues or sites that say Tom Hanks was executed.

    We journos don’t put it on our best-of lists because it is a scathing but highly accurate critique of the industry. It’s the opposite of the movies we journos love to fellate ourselves over: “All the President’s Men,” “Spotlight,” etc.

    Best journo movie (and it rarely gets mentioned) is “Absence of Malice” with Sally Field and Paul Newman. It shows how a federal bureaucrat fed false info to a journalist in order to frame an innocent man.

    journalists have the same exact 4 arguments on this site in an endless loop. They’re only allowed to have one of these four arguments: 1. The J-School Fight 2. What’s The Best Journalism Movie? 3. Is A Hot Dog A Sandwich? 4. [something about Springsteen]

    Siebel Newsom admits in that email that she asked McGowan what Boies could do for her in Summer 2017, which was when McGowan was working with NYT on the Weinstein expose (Boies certainly knew that NYT was working on the piece).
