UPDATE: Williamson County has already removed OVER HALF of the names on its state-provided list of possible noncitizen registered voters. And … Williamson County is still going through its SOS-provided list to cull names that shouldn't have been on there. Also, SOS has not responded to Wilco's request to put in writing yesterday's directions (delivered via phone) on removing mistaken names.
Travis County expects to have some updated numbers soon and will post them online so everyone can follow its updates. Also, Travis asked SOS to provide a written update to its initial advisory. Like the other counties listed above, they've heard nothing back.
Also, I asked secretary of state's office (yesterday and today) if it will correct its initial claim that 95,000 potential noncitizens were flagged as registered voters, with 58,000 of them having voted. Those numbers are still on the SOS website. No response yet.
Travis County says, based on new info from SOS, it has removed 634 names (about 14%) from the state-provided list of possible noncitizen registered voters. Because the SOS office has acknowledged that its list may include people who registered to vote after becoming naturalized US citizens, additional names are expected to be removed from the list. SOS records, however, don't indicate which voters may fall into that category.
I don’t see how this can happen. I had to identify myself before I voted.
It is because it didn't happen. The numbers purposefully misleading.
