No they're not. Many of the characters are clearly intelligent. They're UNEDUCATED, which happens when you're oppressed. You're the one saying uneducated=dumb.

I usually don't really publicize my novels. Much less in advance! Too many spoons. I'm planning to try with #nightbirdsfeather tho 'cause when I went back to edit after leaving it a few years, that reread helped for 2-3 days with depression & dysphoria. I want that for others.

But I've _also_ been thinking about (for months now) how much I enjoy ensembles. How well I feel like I do them. I think it means I'm better than I believe at writing fun stuff without crunch crunch plot eep scream looming overhead.

Fury Convergence, as much as I love it, as _important_ as it was to character growth, was Branwyn falling apart. Poor woman's been forced to deal with all these awful _consequences_ of her choices and I think that's gone about as far as it can go now.

Hmm. I'm not sure I mean 'fluff' in the 'feel good no angst' way. Just... characters living their lives. A chance for Branwyn to be proactive again instead of reactive. Infinity Key had a good vibe for that.

I really feel like 2 years spent focusing on fanfiction has given me a new perspective on just letting the characters _be_.
Er, not that my fanfiction isn't also overshadowed by the spectre of plot... but I have a better understanding of how much people enjoy fluff

I mean, I love plots! But I've been seeing how plot overshadowed most of the characters I loved in Shadow Crash and thinking about my reliance on it.
