supposedly there are 2 anatomically separate ways of doing undertone singing (vocal fry vs using false cords) and i cant tell which im doing (or if im switching between them)

yeah you can get a tone an octave below the one you normally produce with whatever larynx position (or lower undertones, ive only been able to get a twelfth below so far)

I guess I always understood 'overtone' to refer to tones produced in addition to the fundamental tone, whether higher or lower -e.g. Tuvan throat singing does both (I think?)
