or complement rather than substitute. i dont know why they dont teach everyone overtone singing for example, i dont think its harder to pick up than whistling (and it helps to be able whistle first), then you get to feel harmony in your body

also idk if you can learn perfect pitch but i think its hard to get a sense of absolute pitch without singing
