Walgreens has announced it will be closing its 300 Gough store in my district, citing organized retail theft. This store serves important needs of neighborhood residents. Media reports have accepted without analysis Walgreens' assertion that it's closing due to retail theft. 1/4

Walgreens has long planned to close hundreds of locations. In an SEC filing in August 2019, Walgreens stated that it planned to close approximately 200 US stores following “a review of the real estate footprint in the United States.” https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1618921/000119312519214110/d786644d8k.htm … 2/4

So is Walgreens closing stores because of theft or because of a pre-existing business plan to cut costs and increase profits by consolidating stores and shifting customers to online purchases? 3/4

Our office is seeking further clarity on the reasons for the announced closures and whether there is a path to keeping the 300 Gough store open. We thank community members for reaching out and emphasizing their desire for a pharmacy in the neighborhood. 4/4

CVS at 400 Sutter was recently robbed at gunpoint How is that not a valid concern of employees and company? If someone robbed your political office at gunpoint — would you expect your political officer to dispute your claim, or do something about the robbery?https://twitter.com/chriszeoli/status/1441159458176991234 …

chrisz.eth @chriszeoliReplying to @chesaboudinJust yesterday, CVS at 400 Sutter was robbed at gunpoint. That criminal wasn't caught but if he was, you'd release them. How are you doing anything to stop gun violence (and the violence against the working class employees who have to suffer due to your policies)?1 reply 0 retweets 14 likes
If you don’t start listening to your constituents — citizens and small businesses — who voice retail theft and assaults as a concern
you will go the same way as @chesaboudin
And our local economy, small businesses and most importantly employees will suffer unnecessary attacks
