Russian missile hit a residential building in Kharkiv city center at 11 pm. Massive explosion made me jump out of the bed. The building is heavily damaged and on fire. There are reports of dead and wounded. Bloody terrorists.

Watched the heartbreaking Oscar-nominated doc House Made of Splinters, showing the tormented emotional life of children in state-care home in Lysychansk in Eastern Ukraine. Haunting, loveable characters, who are now *one more time* displaced after Russia captured their town.

Former Australian ambassador quotes "Russian polls" showing 80% support for govt natsec policy. You must be either lobotomized or a total piece of shit to quote polls in a country that literally has a law jailing you 12 years for disagreeing with the government's natsec policy.
Quote Tweet
I am sorry, this is a cop out: polls in Russia show 80%+ support of govt natsec policy. Russian people feel threatened by what is going on internationally. They experience the hate&prejudice. When I go to Russia I’m welcomed. Contrast the hate at Australian Open. .@tonykevin twitter.com/dendrades/stat…

And this is what exactly why I think this is relevant: speaking out against the war is literally preaching to the choir, not a single new Russian reached with the antiwar message. Slepakov who has a largely apolitical (at best) fan base changing sides makes a dent.

Let me remind everyone who the ‘talented social-satire songwriter’ really is, who he works for (Gazprom) and what he thinks about those protesting against Putin. One screenshot is enough.

The whole of the state of Utah is out of Campari. The reason? Because alcohol sale is a state monopoly in this state, and "there are supply difficulties". And this is exactly why communism collapsed.

Just watched the world premiere of the shattering documentary 20 Days in Mariupol at Sundance. Even to people who followed Russia's barbarism in Mariupol in real time, the film still makes one's blood boil with rage.

As I wrote last April, I wish Bulgaria didn't have to help Ukraine in total secrecy, as if it were helping the aggressor. politico.eu/article/bulgar

Bulgaria has been secretly supplying ammo to Ukraine via a "third country", in an attempt to prevent disintegration if the coalition government due to the Socialists' adamant pro-Kremlin objection to arms exports. But Ukraine hasn't been happy with a tryst, wants a marriage.

Apparently in an attempt to deescalate the attacks from Prigozhin, MoD gives (partial) credit to "Wagner's selfless acts" in taking over Soledar..thus backing out of earlier claims regular forces earned that victory. Shows who's the alpha in this relationship.

Hm. Shoigu announced the appointment of Gerassimov as the Joint Armed Forces Chief of Staff (i.e. in charge of the war), and demoted Surovikin. Among other things, this would lead to even further face-offs with Prigozhin who's been attacking Gerassimov.

Interestingly, Russia's defence ministry, seemingly reluctant to give Wagner credit for the win, insists that it is VDV airborne troops who have encircled Soledar. Little to no mention of Wagner on state media today.

In the first Russian victory in months, Wagner troops take most of the town of Soledar, making holding Bakhmut much more precarious for Ukraine. Wagner chief Prigozhin makes sure to point out that no regular Russian units were involved in the battle for Soledar.

A top representative of the Russian state and former president of Russia says Russia should assassinate extrajudicially traitors who oppose the war. Fortunately, the groups of people he refers to are not as "quiet" nor as "inconspicuous" as this terrorist regime thinks.

In a parliamentary hearing focused on me being put on Russia's Wanted list, reportedly over my journalistic work, the self-described Bulgarian "nationalist" party proposed that I be extradited to Russia. Moments like this are a litmus tests *which* nation "nationalists" work for.

More cringe from Russian propaganda. "Intercepts" of "Polish mercenaries" in Ukraine... However, in text form only "because we don't want to give away our technical capabilities"
