People are sharing a certain article operating under the assumption that Jagmeet Singh is done as NDP leader, saying in part that "his party is only at 16.8 percent" But people forget that Jack Layton himself was polling lower during the early Orange Wave election.

I think it's much more that he hasn't yet contested an election. He leads a caucus he isn't even part of, and isn't polling particularly well in the place he needs to win to be part of that caucus. At least, that's every analysis of it I've ever heard.

The first two at least applied to Layton, and riding polls are notoriously hard to bail

They didn't have high hopes for Jack, either. But at least he was in the lobby. Honestly, I've only heard what Singh was up to 3-4x all year. He's a ghost. I don't doubt he isn't getting as much coverage as he deserves, but still.

This is what the media does to all NDP leaders! Regardless of colour or gender!
-
And then when the full court press of media and the other Party’s lies and distortions works, the NDP apparently now turns on its leaders! Of course, having an internal group that wants the NDP to fail so a ‘true socialist’ alternative can arise doesn’t help us at all!

Well, Jagmeet is no Jack. You're trying to make it about skin colour, I don't reckon that's what is motivating the MSM to criticize his leadership or lack thereof, although it's fair to point out that political commentary in Canada is overwhelmingly white and male.

As did the media and pundits before the ON election dismissing Andrea Horwath ‘s chances of winning referring to her as “Andrea who”. Then they criticized her and her party for “ blowing “ the election with no mention of Ms. Wynne’s part in the PCs win.

The
#NDP is doing just fine under@theJagmeetSingh, Whereas we polled <16% in 2004 & >17% in 2006, we're now polling around 17% & that's despite a concerted effort by the MSM & Liberal pundits (& even some Green-tinged journos) to undermine our leader.#cdnpoli#bcpoliThanks. Religious signs are a big No-No with a large share of the population in Quebec. Whether this is right or wrong it is irrelevant, right now there isn't a single NPD MP in Quebec whose seat can be considered safe.
