For me, trust is a concept that doesn't really exist in my life and I'm pretty used to that by now, but it's weird when for most people it's like a core thing in life...

does something else take its place? Or, what do you call it when you have to rely on other (reliable or unreliable) people?

Trust is a measure of someones capability, integrity, and perceived benevolence. Can do do X, will you do X?, are you a good person? In my practice I cancel out benevolence because it can’t be tracked

I like this! You can figure out where your trust might be breaking down, in your confidence of someone’s capability or integrity or benevolence

This is a great question! i spend most of my days here around developing trustworthiness. I'd highly recommend this talk with bonnita roy where she breaks down trust in a way i've never heard before:https://anchor.fm/emerge/episodes/Bonnitta-Roy---A-Source-Code-Analysis-of-Trust-e24ds3 …

trust isn't just predictability. a rock you could say is extremely predictable. but we care about trust in exactly those vulnerable or uncertain times when we don't know but turns out someone acted well. In that way, trust is very intertwined with faith.

trust is absolutely vital to a healthy society, relationships, everything. So much of the downfall of today's age is that we assume trust is not possible and have lost lost with everything besides ourselves.
