For me there is something about form too- the more curves the more alive it feels. For example A vase is nearly as dead as a hammer but something about the curves & form make it feel a tad bit more alive

Yeah like a PlayStation controller feels very alive as soon as you pick it up, it molds to your hands. Also for function, it reacts to your motions & vibrates back etc
