Things that are not yet clear to me about IFS: 1. Why don’t we have positive parts? I feel within me many positive parts, idk why they are not talked about in IFS discourse. They seem equally present and consequential as the others.

2. Sometimes I feel most alive and high-vibration when blended. I struggle with the concept of Self as “calm” because it implies detachment

3. In No Bad Parts, it seems like the parts are way more obedient than in what I observe in myself. My parts don’t want to go into a room and they don’t want to stay in the room, and they are in fact scared even when I say, don’t be scared

The part of the process being how weird it actually is to inhabit self energy to the degree that makes the process effortless. There are hella meta parts that are deeply threatened by even feeling into self energy

I think sometimes I believe I am in Self but perhaps I am in a highly blended meta part… and the scared part not moving away is a sign that that is the case

The book Somatic Internal Family Systems Therapy by Susan McConnell has more tangible practices for "getting into Self energy" I've started to read it, and I can tell this is a book I'll end up reading deeply, multiple times: https://ifs-institute.com/store/304
