Internal Family Systems people - is it possible for different parts to be at different developmental stages? Say a part is quite young/created in early childhood - would that part be limited to the developmental stage at the time it emerged?

I wonder if there are multiple interpretations of shadow? For example 1) exiles & managers are "in shadow" or "stuck" at the time they emerged. I definitely have parts that think I'm 6 years old, but I can clearly "see" them, speak with them, and work on releasing their burden.
2) Meanwhile I have another part that is "shadowy", like I only get glimpses of it and they seem to be enshrouded in fog or something..? It seems quite scary, my other parts are scared of it, idk if others have this experience of parts that are shadowy in this way

It sounds like either that part is partially dissociated away by itself or another part is partially blocking it.

oh god IFS can get so overwhelming... thinking of parts having subparts, or how parts can dissociate away by / from themselves...
