Turns out I somewhat consistently ignore this part in me that is trying to keep me from totally destroying my body, so it acts out / leads to me these crippling injuries that force me to slow down and take care of myself

It’s interesting to think about in this way because I definitely have a pattern to the types of injuries I get, they come from overuse and continuing to pursue an activity long after my body has given the first warning signals of fatigue

It’s been useful for me to think about my injuries through an IFS perspective because while it seemed ok for me to ignore “a small voice in my head”, it’s not ok for me to dismiss this part in me with its own concerns and agency
